Inova Semiconductors was founded in February 1999 as a fabless semiconductor manufacturer funded by European Institutional and Private Investors capital as well as public government funding. The headquarters of the company is located in Munich, Germany. As of June 2001, Inova Semiconductors expanded it's worldwide presence to North America by establishing Inova Semiconductors ,Inc. whose main offices are located in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Inova Semiconductors specialize in reliable high speed serial data communication products for Gigabit/s data transfers. The company's first product, the GigaSTaR(Gigabit Serial Transmit and Receive), is a serial link with a data rate of 1.32Gbit/s. It is currently used in numerous industrial applications such as Automated Test Equipment (ATE), High Speed Printers/Scanners, Military Radar/Scanning Systems, Data Multiplexing Systems and Medical Equipment.
